Snape Maltings and the Aldeburgh Festival

Snape Maltings

Snape Maltings has been revitalised from old granaries into a leading destination on the Suffolk Heritage Coast offering shops, galleries, eateries and RSPB wildlife centre by the the picturesque River Alde.

After the malting of barley ceased in 1965, George Gooderham bought the Maltings and a new era began with the gradual conversion of the Victorian buildings. The first major development was the now world-famous Snape Maltings Concert Hall, the home of Aldeburgh Music.

The Aldeburgh Festival

The Aldeburgh Festival is part of a year round programme of arts events at The Snape Maltings Concert Hall. With rustling reeds and the navigable head of the Alde Estuary as its backdrop there are few more beautiful venues to enjoy fine musical performances, all within the same location as the Snape Maltings holiday homes.

Telephone (+44) 1728 687 110 or visit www.aldeburgh.co.uk for concert information and details.
